At PesaKit, some people keep the wheels turning quite literally. One of them is Jactone, our Logistics and Office Manager.
From early-morning deliveries to coordinating transport for field teams and ensuring the office runs like clockwork, Jactone plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in how we operate. He’s the person we count on when something needs to get from point A to point B quickly, safely, and efficiently.
In this Q&A, we sat down with Jactone to talk about what a typical day looks like in logistics, the challenges that come with the role, and what keeps him grounded (and motivated) through it all.
What does a typical day in logistics at PesaKit look like for you?
As the Logistics and Office Manager, every day moves quickly. I manage inventory, coordinate transportation for goods and personnel, and ensure the office operates smoothly. From handling urgent deliveries to solving last-minute scheduling issues, no two days are the same, and that’s what I enjoy.
What kinds of items, tools, or support do you usually handle in your role?
I rely on a mix of digital tools and physical resources. Zoom for virtual meetings, tracking devices for vehicle monitoring, Google Maps for real-time traffic updates, and good old-fashioned notepads and whiteboards for planning. On the ground, I coordinate the use of vans and motorcycles for deliveries and events, and I utilize our inventory system to track all items.
What’s one part of your job most people don’t see or appreciate?
The behind-the-scenes coordination. When everything flows smoothly, it often goes unnoticed, but that’s a sign we’re doing it right. It’s only when things go wrong that the logistics side becomes visible.
What’s a recent challenge you faced, and how did you solve it?
Recently, the rising cost of fuel and increased demand for transport have pushed our operational costs up. I addressed it by planning more efficient delivery routes and optimizing how we use our vehicles and riders. It’s about getting more done with the same resources.
How do you stay organized when things get hectic?
I prioritize. I break big tasks into smaller steps, set realistic goals, and plan. I also check in with the team regularly, and communication helps everything stay on track.
What’s your proudest moment or biggest win in this role?
Helping the team stay agile during market shifts and disruptions. Whether it’s adjusting delivery schedules on short notice or embracing new tools to improve visibility, being able to maintain efficiency and keep the team moving is something I take pride in.
What’s something you’ve learned about working in the field or with agents?
It’s helped me grow both professionally and personally. Working in the field has taught me how to adapt quickly, build relationships with agents, and solve real-world problems in dynamic environments. My communication and problem-solving skills have improved.
If someone wanted to succeed in logistics, what skills do you think matter most?
You need to be adaptable and calm under pressure. Strong time management, clear communication, and a solid understanding of inventory systems are crucial, but just as important is the ability to solve problems on the go.
What motivates you to keep going, especially on long or tough days?
I remind myself of past wins and the value of the work we do. Supporting agents, solving problems, and knowing that logistics keep everything moving, that keeps me focused. I also lean on the team when needed. We’ve got each other’s backs.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the PesaKit team?
The people. We’re a diverse, reliable team that collaborates well and learns from each other. Everyone brings something different, and there’s always room to grow and support one another.
